A key element of New Testament churches found in Scripture is community. In the book of Acts, as well as the epistles, Christian community always seems to be a unifying factor that brings people together for the sake of the gospel. Community helps foster relationships and relationships allow people to understand the gravity of their own sin and also the breadth of God’s grace and love. The bible tells us we are known and loved by God and scripture also encourages us to know others and to be known by them.
At Hope, we value community because Christ does. We strive to promote community in a variety of ways among all types of people. One of the ways we do this is through our Young Adult Gatherings. On a regular basis, young adults gather to get to know each other better and have fun. Whether it’s bowling, hiking, top golf, or dinner (or anything else!), we want people to know others and be known by others. There is no hidden agenda at these gatherings; we simply want to have fun and learn and grow together. These gatherings are perfect opportunities to invite friends and get them plugged into a fun, loving, and gospel-centered community.
