Restore What is Broken
Passage: John 21:1-14
Have you ever broken a vase or ceramic pitcher and tried to put it back together? It can be an arduous process as you gather all the pieces, and then try to figure out how they fit, using some sort of fast bonding glue to restore them back to the way they were. You step back, look at your completed work with all its imperfections, wondering, "should I just throw it out?" We can at times feel that way when it comes to our sins, failures, or disappointments. Our flesh may want to retreat from the Lord, but he looks at us differently; he wants to restore what is broken, to redeem us completely. This weekend we look at an encouraging account of how the Lord moves to restore Peter after Peter has denied the Lord, not once, or twice, but three times.
